The registration deadline is midnight March 9, 2015. Candler students are require to register and attend the Centennial Academic Conference.

In celebration of its 100th birthday, Candler School of Theology—with the support of the McDonald Agape Foundation¬—will hold a theology conference March 18-20, 2015. The theme is the theological challenges of the coming century. Please join us for this important conversation -- Prophetic Voices: Confronting Theological Challenges of the Next Century: Candler School of Theology Centennial Academic Conference.

Overview and Themes
Some of the best minds in theological education are gathering at Candler School of Theology to consider the massive and urgent issues facing theology in the coming century. As part of Candler's yearlong Centennial Celebration, the school will mark the spring of its 100th year with a forward-looking academic conference, "Prophetic Voices: Confronting Theological Challenges of the Next Century," March 18-20, 2015.

The conference explores the themes of Logos: Theological Imagination and Secularization; Person: The Image of God in the Contemporary World; Cosmos: God's Creation and the Care of the Earth; and Polity: The Kingdom of God and Global Pluralism.

Speakers
The conference brings together a dozen renowned theologians from Candler and beyond, including Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson, Cambridge University's Janet Soskice, and Duke University's Norman Wirzba, among others.

Who Should Attend
The conference is designed for students and faculty of Candler and Emory University as well as theologians and church leaders who want to engage in conversation with renowned scholars and activists about the critical issues facing the future of theology and theological education.

About The McDonald Agape Foundation
The Honorable Alonzo L. McDonald founded the McDonald Agape Foundation to support activities related to Jesus Christ. The Agape Foundation has supported significant national and international programs, including the distinguished McDonald lecture series at Candler School of Theology and Emory School of Law. He has enjoyed a distinguished career in business, government, and academia. He is currently Chairman and CEO of Avenir Group, Inc., a private development bank and investor group that he founded in 1983. An alumnus of Emory College, Mr. McDonald served for many years on the Board of Trustees of Emory University.

About the Centennial
"The Candler Centennial in Story and Prophecy" is a yearlong celebration of Candler School of Theology's founding in 1914. The 100th anniversary festivities highlight memories of the past and visions for the future, beginning in the fall of 2014 with the dedication of our new building and the debut of a new book on our history. The commemoration continues through the spring of 2015 with guest lectures, musical performances, forums, exhibits, and an academic conference. The celebration is designed to showcase Candler's contributions to theological education and to the church; its role within and contribution to Emory University; its vision for addressing the challenges and opportunities facing theology in the 21st century; the excellence and leadership of Candler's faculty; and the accomplishments of Candler's alumni and friends.
