The practice of ministry can on occasion involve delving into far-ranging subjects, including those with a legal component. What are the legal requirements for registering a child for medical aid? What do you need to know about local building codes for a new construction project? What legal considerations should inform discussions about public religious displays?
This workshop will provide an introduction to resources available to you at Emory and beyond for research into legal matters connected to ministerial work. Discussion will include strategies and resources for locating legal codes and statutes; congressional and state hearings; resources for discussion of the relationship between church and state; and more.
