Atlanta author and Candler School of Theology graduate, Jonathan Merritt, will discuss and sign his new book A Faith of Our Own: Following Jesus Beyond the Culture Wars.
A Faith of Our Own explores the changing face of American Christianity by examining the coming of age of a new generation of Christians, a generation that wants to influence American culture but is disenchanted with a faith that has become culturally antagonistic and too closely aligned with partisan politics.
Jonathan Merritt has written over 300 articles for publications ranging from USA Today to CNN.com, from Christianity Today to The Huffington Post. His previous book Green Like God: Unlocking the Divine Plan for Our Planet appeared in 2010 and attracted positive notices from Publisher's Weekly and other sources. He has a Master of Divinity from from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Theology from Emory University's Candler School of Theology. Merritt is constantly active in environmental initiatives, poverty relief, adoption programs and other social issues.
