The Candler Staff Advisory Council invites you to participate in the Emory Health Screenings.
In early 2014, Emory faculty and staff will once again have an opportunity to “know their numbers” by participating in free, onsite health screenings. The screenings will be available at over 80 events at Emory University and Emory Healthcare, from Jan. 13 through Feb. 28.
Emory is offering these screenings for faculty and staff to provide them with key biometric measurements that can help them better understand their health. The screening will measure blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and body mass index (BMI).
Every faculty and staff member who participates will also receive information on Emory’s resources to help them maintain or improve their health and well‐being. Last year, during these onsite screenings, several employees discovered health issues about which they were completely unaware. These
employees were provided with information and resources about appropriate next steps to address their health issues.
To encourage participation, Emory will provide an incentive to those employees (and spouses/same sex domestic partners) covered by an Emory medical plan who participate in a screening AND take an online health assessment. Both activities must be completed in 2014 to receive the incentive:
Faculty/staff – receive $200 incentive
Spouses/Same sex domestic partners – receive $100 incentive
The online health assessment will provide our faculty and staff with valuable insight into their current health status. It is a short questionnaire that is completed on the Aetna website (www.aetna.com) after January 1.
